Oct 24, 2024Oct 24, 2024

Electromagnetic field (EMF) protection is more critical today than ever before.

Smart devices are everywhere. Your body is bombarded with electromagnetic radiation daily, from your phone and computer monitor to the air you breathe.

Some studies have suggested electromagnetic radiation increases the risk of cancer. Other studies have shown EMF radiation is linked to weight gain, diabetes, mental fog, and other health problems.

Researchers at UC Berkeley, for example, found spending just 17 minutes per day on your phone for ten years increased the risk of brain cancer by 60%.

Fortunately, EMF protection products can help.

All EMF protection products claim to protect from EMF radiation. Some products work as advertised, while others do not. We did the hard work for you, testing today's most popular EMF protection products to see which one came out on top.

After hundreds of hours of research, deliberation, and lab testing, here's our list of the best EMF protection products available today:

EMF Shield offers a 24K gold anti-radiation protection sticker designed for use on small electronics.

The secret to the sticker's success is its multilayer technology: the outer layer is made from 24K gold, while the inner layers consist of six additional types of protection, including Japanese minerals, negative ions, far infrared protective materials, germanium, and other protective layers. EMF Shield claims "decades" of research went into creating the stickers

Some people place EMF Shield's EMF Defense Shield Stickers on their phones, while others put them on wireless routers, smartwatches, and other small electronic devices.

According to the manufacturer, EMF Shield's Defense Pendant is "the most effective way to block EMF radiation. " The pendant uses 36 minerals, including the prevalent black tourmaline, to block radiation from entering the body.

To enhance the radiation-blocking effects further, the EMF Shield Defense Pendant creates 10,000+ negative ions, neutralizing the positive radioactive ions.

The EMF Shield Defense Pendant is easy to use: wear it as a necklace. Your purchase includes a chain, a pendant, and an authenticity card. Just wear the pendant like any necklace, and you'll discreetly protect yourself from radiation.

The EMF Shield Defense Pendant is available in silver, gold tone, rose gold, colorful, or midnight blue. You can choose from small (29mm) or large (35mm) options at checkout.

EMF Shield's Heart Shaped Pendant protects you from cell phones, Wi-Fi, 5G, and other sources of EMF radiation around you. Described as the Quantum Heart EMF Defense Pendant, the EMF Shield Heart Shaped Pendant claims to block radiation while promoting different areas of health and wellness.

According to EMF Shield, wearing the pendant can improve blood circulation, boost immunity, and fight environmental stressors.

Plus, the pendant is outfitted with dozens of real-looking fake diamonds, giving you a stylish appearance. Thus, you can protect yourself from EMF radiation while looking fashionable.

Want to protect your whole home from the dangers of EMF radiation? EMF Shield has launched its EMF Shield Whole Home System to help.

Also known as the Home Protection System, the all-in-one kit is available in multiple versions based on the size of your home, including:

The large shields are designed to be attached to a larger radiation-emitting device, like your home's fuse box or wireless router. The Small Shields, meanwhile, are designed for outer walls, outlets, small electronics, and other sources of EMF radiation.

All oversized and Small Shields come with adhesive backing. Secure the shields around your property, then enjoy the passive radiation-blocking effects. According to EMF Shield, the Shields "help to restore the natural ion balance in the air" by attracting and trapping charged particles, improving air quality.

Your phone emits radiation every day. Every time you look at your screen, you're being exposed to radiation spikes when you take a call. Some studies show people who talk on the phone for long periods have a greater risk of brain cancer over ten years.

EMF Shield's Universal EMF Defense Phone Case is designed to help. The case uses special metals to block exposure to harmful EMF radiation. It can also protect against accidental falls and scratches. EMF Shield even claims it can protect against hackers, extend phone battery life, and "decrease your risk of developing cancer and other disorders," among other benefits.

EMF Shield's Universal EMF Defense Phone Case purportedly blocks up to 99% of EMF radiation emitted by your device. Plus, three card slots make it easy to take your (protected) cards with you on the go.

While other EMF radiation blockers rely on metal, EMF Shield takes a different approach: the case is made from leather that is "specially designed to block the harmful effects of EMF radiation."

Studies on animals have shown they're more susceptible to EMF radiation than humans. They generally don't weigh as much, which means they could experience EMF toxicity after lower doses and exposures.

That's why EMF Shield developed its popular Pet Pendant. As the name suggests, the EMF Shield Pet Pendant goes around your pet's neck to protect it from "EMF overload."

You give your pet good food and quality pet care. So why are you allowing your pet to be exposed to radiation? The EMF Shield Pet Pendant uses the same EMF Shield pendant material above to block incoming EMF radiation.

Some find their dogs calmer after using the Pet Pendant. Others find their dogs sleep better, are less aggressive, or are more accessible to train. Some find their pets are generally more sensitive to EMF radiation, which is why the Pet Pendant can help. With the EMF Shield Pet Pendant, you can ensure your pet stays safe.

EMF Shield's Gordon Bell has published a book highlighting the dangers of EMF radiation – and the science behind those dangers.

Some of the topics covered in The EMF Problem include:

The book is short and easy to read. It's designed for an average adult – not a scientist. With The EMF Problem, you can discover why EMF protection devices are so important – and how you can get started today.

You get instant access to the book online today in exchange for a one-time fee. You can download the eBook and read it on any device.

EMF Shield offers an EMF Defense Beanie to protect your brain from the effects of electromagnetic field radiation.

Made from a unique fabric, the beanie claims to block "99% of brain-disrupting EMF radiation" from small electronic devices around you, such as cell towers, wireless routers, and wireless electronics.

The EMF Defense Beanie achieves all of these effects while being stylish. It looks like you're wearing an ordinary beanie to the outside world. But you know you're enjoying constant protection against EMF radiation wherever you go. Plus, the beanie is antimicrobial, comfy, versatile, stylish, and made from high-quality radiation-blocking material.

EMF Shield offers a specialty Faraday bag called a Void Bag. The Void Bag blocks incoming and outgoing cell phone signals, preventing people from snooping on your phone when you're out in public. It also has natural RFID-blocking technology, making it useful for storing credit cards, bank cards, key fobs, and other small items.

To do that, the Void Bag uses a premium type of leather called Pu leather. This leather looks stylish and protects your device while blocking EMF radiation (the large bag is made from waterproof and fire-proof nylon).

EMF Shield even claims the bag can keep conversations secure. Someone could snoop on your phone without the bag and steal messages, location data, and more. The Void Bag, meanwhile, "automatically blocks the hackers from accessing your location" while also ensuring "Your conversations are private and secure," according to EMF Shield.

Airwave Defender is made from copper and stainless steel, which can naturally block or absorb EMF radiation.

Priced at $79.99 per device, Airwave Defender may be the most accessible device on this list. Place one in each room, then enjoy the passive EMF protection properties. The 1.575x1.575" device aims to provide long-term protection against EMF radiation. It never needs charging, nor does it run out of effectiveness. Instead, it constantly protects your home.

According to the official website, Airwave Defender works because it "neutralizes the harmful energetic frequencies" from EMF radiation. The device is infused with two unique technologies, including:

Both technologies appear proprietary, with limited information about how either works. However, the makers of Airwave Defender seem confident they can promote powerful effects on your body while protecting your home.

EMF Health Summit, like the EMF radiation book from EMF Shield above, provides EMF knowledge. It equips you with the skills and knowledge you need to protect yourself from the hazards of EMF radiation.

The creators of the EMF Health Summit describe EMF as a "digital toxin," claiming you're "bathed in in 24/7," accelerating aging, inflammation, memory loss, and even cancer.

Fortunately, the EMF Health Summit can help. You pay a one-time fee to get instant access to the summit. Then, you hear from PhDs, MDs, DCs, NDs, and other certified experts across a series of interviews. Topics covered during the summit include:

How to "avoid cancer," "reduce inflammation," and promote relief from headaches, sleep issues, aging, and more

The Harmoni Pendant protects against EMF radiation via a convenient, wearable solution.

Instead of keeping an EMF protection device at home, why not keep an EMF protection device with you at all times? The Harmoni Pendant claims to protect against free radical damage and other health effects caused by EMF radiation.

The Texas-based makers of the Harmoni Pendant claim wearing the pendant can help:

As further proof, the makers of the Harmoni Pendant claim doctors, health practitioners, and other medical experts have "used and validated" the device. The official website is filled with reviews from many of these verified users.

The pendant is available in gold, rose gold, or stainless steel and in two sizes: small (20mm) or large (25mm). Harmoni Pendant, LLC, based in Houston, Texas, offers a 60-day money-back guarantee on all purchases.

Using a small, convenient sticker, the Royku EMF SafeWave Sticker protects against harmful EMF radiation.

The portable, easy-to-use sticker is designed for passive protection. Place it on your phone or any other electronic device to block EMF radiation. You can continue to use the device as usual, but the sticker protects against potential health risks.

Ryoku added "advanced EMF shielding technology" called SafeWave to its sticker to do that. That technology helps to protect against the harmful effects of EMF radiation. Plus, it's full-spectrum protection, defending you against a broader range of EMF radiation frequencies than other products.

All EMF protection devices claim to protect you from the dangers of EMF radiation—some work, but many do not.

We separated the best EMF protection products from the merely average ones using the following ranking factors:

Our team tested all the EMF radiation products above in a lab to verify their effectiveness. Since you're buying EMF protection products to protect against EMF radiation, we primarily judged each product based on its protective ability. The best products had a proven ability to mitigate EMF radiation.

Some EMF protection devices fail within months of regular use, while others provide long-lasting protection for years. We prefer products proven to keep you and your family safe in the foreseeable future.

Some EMF protection product manufacturers go overboard. They claim their products can help with cancer, for example. Or, they suggest you can cure all illnesses and diseases by installing the product in your house. These claims aren't realistic, and we were wary of manufacturers that made ridiculous claims about advertised effects.

Although we tested each EMF protection product on our list, we also relied on customer reviews. We heard from people who genuinely tested and used the product in real-world settings. Some customers felt better after installing products in their homes, while others felt no different. We carefully assessed reviews from verified users to help sort our list above.

Does the manufacturer stand behind its product with a money-back guarantee? If so, it suggests they're confident the product works as advertised.

Many EMF products are simple pieces of metal. We were wary of manufacturers who charged excessive prices for their products. Most honest manufacturers charge competitive prices similar to those charged by other providers. We ranked each EMF protection product based on cost, value, and overall competitiveness.

You could construct a Faraday cage around your house to block EMF radiation. But this isn't practical for most people. That's why we liked EMF Shield's pendants, necklaces, and beanies: they block EMF radiation while being ridiculously easy to use.

Some manufacturers cite ample scientific evidence to validate their use of specific materials or metals. Other companies work with doctors, Ph. D.s, and other experts to create their products. The more scientific and medical backing behind a product, the better we like it.

Some EMF protection products are made by companies that have limited information online. In most cases, the products are manufactured by a factory in China and sold en masse online. There's nothing wrong with that – but we preferred manufacturers with greater transparency. Where is the EMF protection product made? What type of quality assurance is behind the product? Who created the product?

We ranked each EMF protection product based on the categories above and assigned each a score. After tallying our scores, averaging them among the editorial team, and adding them all together, we compiled the ranking of the best EMF protection products above.

Electromagnetic field (EMF) radiation is an invisible type of energy emitted by humans, electronic devices, and virtually everything around us.

Also known as electric and magnetic field radiation (EMF), EMF can harm human health. Like nuclear radiation, it can be harmless in small dosages but deadly in large dosages.

Your microwave, for example, emits non-ionizing EMF radiation. This radiation has limited potential to disrupt your DNA or damage your cells.

Sunlight, meanwhile, emits ionizing radiation – like ultraviolet radiation. X-ray machines emit harmful X-ray radiation. Sustained exposure to these sources of radiation, at large doses, can lead to DNA and cell damage.

Electronic devices in your home emit non-ionizing EMF radiation. However, some argue this type of radiation is harmful: Some studies show that your phone, TV, and other electronics emit dangerous levels of radiation that damage your health, while others show they're harmless.

Some studies from the 1990s indicated a connection between low-frequency EMF radiation and an increased risk of health problems.

One study, for example, found living near power lines could increase the risk of childhood leukemia.

Today, EMF radiation is once again in the news: we're surrounded by more electronic devices than ever, and all of these devices emit EMF radiation. Even if these devices emit radiation at low doses, wouldn't that radiation be harmful?

Here's what we know about the dangers of EMF radiation:

EMF radiation comes in the form of non-ionizing and ionizing radiation. Non-ionizing radiation isn't believed to be harmful while ionizing radiation is considered harmful at specific doses and exposure levels.

Your phone, TV, smartwatch, smart speaker, laptop, tablet, monitor, and every other electronic device in your home emit EMF radiation. Even when they emit radiation at low doses, prolonged exposure to this radiation over an extended period could be harmful.

Some reports in the 1990s suggested living near powerlines, which emit radiation, could increase the risk of leukemia in children and all cancers in older adults. A 1999 review admitted there appeared to be a slight correlation between cancer risk and exposure to this type of radiation, although researchers cautioned more data was needed.

In that same 1999 review, researchers found limited evidence showing EMF radiation risk in large-scale human trials. However, researchers found a clear "cause and effect" relationship demonstrated in lab trials. Researchers also concluded that "virtually everyone in the United States uses electricity and is routinely exposed to ELF-EMF" radiation."

The World Health Organization has classified radiofrequency (RF) electromagnetic fields as a possible carcinogen, which means they could cause cancer. The organization came to that conclusion after creating a working group of 31 scientists from 14 countries. Researchers reviewed the literature and found occupational exposure (with radar and microwaves), environmental exposure (with radio, TV, and wireless communication signals), and personal exposure (with cell phones) to RF-EMF could increase the risk of cancer.

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health warned about EMF workplace exposure. The 68-page booklet cited studies demonstrating a link between EMF exposure and adverse health risks, although researchers cautioned that more data was needed to verify these risks.

Overall, there's evidence that electromagnetic field radiation is harmful to humans. Although more research is needed to verify that effect, some research performed to date suggests that EMF radiation could increase the risk of cancer and other deadly diseases.

Some people seem more sensitive to electromagnetic radiation than others. These people have a condition called electromagnetic field (EMF) hypersensitivity. Both physical and psychological symptoms characterize EMF hypersensitivity:

People with EMF hypersensitivity are more susceptible to EMF radiation – even at the small doses emitted by smartphones and other small electronics. These individuals may have physical symptoms after exposure to EMF, including redness, tingling, and burning.

Some also have psychological symptoms, including fatigue, tiredness, difficulty concentrating, dizziness, nausea, heart palpitations, and digestive issues.

According to the World Health Organization, EMF hypersensitivity can be severe: approximately 10% of reported EMF hypersensitivity cases were classified as "severe." Researchers also acknowledged that some responses were linked to "hyper reactivity in the central nervous system" or "imbalance in the autonomic nervous system," activating the body's stress response.

However, the World Health Organization cautioned that these individuals did not appear more sensitive to EMF radiation in double-blind, placebo-controlled trials. Many EMF-hypersensitive individuals, for example, were exposed to both an EMF-emitting device and a non-emitting device and were unable to determine the difference.

More research is needed to understand EMF hypersensitivity and how it works. However, many EMF-hypersensitive individuals genuinely have severe symptoms.

Some people are hypersensitive to EMF radiation. These people may develop redness, skin rashes, mental fog, and other symptoms after exposure.

Even if you're not hypersensitive to EMF, you could experience physical and cognitive symptoms because of EMF radiation.

Some of the signs of EMF toxicity could include:

Some people go their whole lives without experiencing EMF radiation symptoms. Others feel them soon after exposure to EMF radiating devices. Some take years to experience symptoms, while others feel them immediately.

One of the scariest parts of EMF radiation is the connection to cancer. Today, EMF radiation from small electronics hasn't been conclusively linked to cancer – but it also hasn't been conclusively ruled as totally safe for cancer. Here's what we know about the connection between electromagnetic fields and cancer:

The World Health Organization classified radio frequency (RF) electromagnetic radiation as a carcinogen because of its potential connection to cancer. Sources of RF-EMF radiation include microwave ovens, radio and TV signals, wireless phones, MRIs, industrial equipment, wireless routers, TVs, and computer screens.

The National Cancer Institute has not found evidence in humans specifically connecting non-ionizing radiation (like the radiation emitted by small electronics to cancer). However, they found high energy (ionizing) radiation was linked to DNA and cell damage.

The National Cancer Institute also acknowledged some studies in animals that showed EMF radiation was "associated with cancer." However, none of these studies specifically showed Wi-Fi was harmful to health.

One of the first significant studies on EMF radiation and cancer was published in 1979 when researchers suggested high current-flow powerlines in Colorado were associated with an increased risk of leukemia in children. Researchers found that children who lived at addresses near powerlines for extended periods had a higher risk of leukemia than those who lived away from powerlines. A separate meta-analysis found children had a 1.7-fold increase in leukemia risk after being exposed to higher levels of EMF radiation.

One of the most extensive studies on Wi-Fi risks in children was published by the UK Health Protection Agency (now part of Public Health England). That study analyzed the effects of RF-EMF radiation from wireless routers on schoolchildren. Researchers were attempting to determine if installing wireless routers in schools was safe. Researchers found wireless routers emitted radiation at frequencies too weak to affect health, making them safe for use in schools and other places.

Ultimately, there's some evidence EMF radiation causes cancer – and there's other evidence showing small electronics are safe to use around humans and animals.

Electromagnetic field (EMF) radiation protection products work in different ways to protect you from the potentially harmful effects of EMF radiation. Some use layers of specially crafted metals, for example, to block EMF radiation. Others use fancier materials to block harmful radiation while allowing specific radiation – like the radiation that will enable you to take a phone call – to pass through. Here are some of the ways EMF products work:

Some EMF radiation protection products claim to "neutralize" radiation using negative ions. EMF Shield, for example, claims its stickers "generate a stream of negative ions that balance out the positive ions created by EMFs," effectively neutralizing the ionizing radiation.

Some EMF radiation protection products act as a Faraday cage, physically blocking the radiation with protective metals. Some metals prevent radiation from passing through – or at least weaken most of the radiation to limit exposure.

Many EMF protection products don't entirely block radiation. Instead, they block some radiation to reduce the harmful effects of that radiation while still letting some radiation flow through. That means you can continue to use your phone while limiting radiation exposure. Some EMF protection products above use leather, for example, to reduce radiation.

Some EMF protection products interfere with radiation in other ways. They either block or reduce radiation to limit its harmful effects. Some manufacturers provide complete details about their systems upfront, while others use patented, proprietary, or secret mechanisms to protect against EMF radiation.

Some people use EMF protection products to protect their kids and pets. Others use them to sleep better, avoid headaches, and promote other areas of health. Here are some of the benefits of EMF protection products, according to manufacturers and users:

Some studies suggest EMF radiation is linked to an increased risk of cancer. Others find they get mental fog or fatigue around too many electronic devices. The main benefit of an EMF protection product is that it promotes health and wellness.

Many EMF protection products work passively. You don't need to turn them on, charge them, or plug them in. Instead, you stick them on electronics and let them run 24/7 to protect your device.

The EMF protection products above don't require a degree in mechanical engineering; instead, anyone can use them without technical expertise. Many are simple stickers: you attach them to your electronic devices and use them as usual.

How much is your health worth? A single EMF protection product could cost only $20 to $50. However, it could promote long-term health and wellness. Some of the best EMF protection products on our list above are affordable.

You can often prove the EMF products above work as advertised. Some block phone signals, for example, preventing you from making a call. Others have been tested with radiation-sensing equipment.

No Charging or Electronics Required: All EMF protection products above work without charging, cables, or electricity. Instead, you place the device on your body or in your home and let it passively protect your health.

We get plenty of questions about EMF protection products and how they work. Here are some of the answers to our most frequently asked questions about EMF protection products:
